STORY TEXARKANA - New Country Music band - The Rome Cowboys from Italy.
Luciano Terrezza, Roberto Olivotti and Raniero Ansovini, the first three members, have been friends since childhood playing together since the beginning of sixties. Throughout their fifteen years together they formed several bands, and have always been well known in the music scene in Rome; the "Flashes," a band that played at that period in the most important clubs in Rome of it's time, (first of all the "Piper Club"); the "Icebergs" (winners of the first edition of Canta-Lazio festival), "Tsuru", "Jaguars", "Delta", "Route 66". Successively their musical experience grew outwards as they played in other countries like U.S.A, Great Britain and Australia. In 1985 they met again to give birth to a new band TEXARKANA, and together with other musicians toured all over the nation performing for events such as local t.v. programs, rodeos, motorcycles, agriturismo's, bikers meetings, beer's parties, etc. They have received rave reviews from top magazines and newspapers for their specialized style as an Italian band able to perform Country Music. TEXARKANA leans towards a more country western dance type of music, "Line Dance", the Cow Boys dance. During the recent years the band was invited to represent Italy in some of the most important Country Music European Festivals. In 2004 in Mragowo - Poland they had the honor to play with Billy Joe Shaver and his band, taking part in a Jam Session in which also Mick Taylor, ex-Rolling Stones, was present. In 2005 in Munich - Germany and in Sulomino - Poland they exhibited at the Eight Western Piknik in the superstar band section, together with other well-known bands like Lonstar and Wayne Law. Because of their particular country music style, they where summoned to the set of the film of a famous italian director Sorrentino “ L'amico di famiglia”, in 2005 to play as country musicians. In fact the film location was set in a country music atmosphere with Texarkana playing as partners of the lead actor singer. They appeared in scenes in which the typical country music dance, the “Line Dance”, takes place. In 2006 Texarkana had performed live show on Lithuanian State TV, for a very popular morning program. Successively they also played at the Broadvejus, a famous Vilnius – Lithuania music club, and then they represented Italy in another of one of the most prestigious country music festivals of Northern Europe held at Visagino - Lithuania, in a stadium where more than 25.000 people were present.
